Room with a Review - Quarryman Hall

Room with a Review - Quarryman Hall

When we first visited Roche Harbor as a prospect wedding venue, the resort has a policy to let newly engaged couples to stay in one of the suites for free. Our stay was in a king’s suite room at the Quarryman Hall - the newest hotel built on the resort grounds.

Quarryman is located just steps away from the wedding venue and is most likely going to host majority of the wedding guests since it offers the most modern luxuries. The hotel has a spa and a small gift shop on the first floor as well as a bocce ball court nearby. The hotel also boasts one of the only elevators in the resort that makes it easier for any guest with mobility issues. Despite Quarryman being the youngest accommodation building on the resort, the exterior was made to look as though it was there since the early 1900s. Showcasing it’s exposed brick masonry work, the designers of the building wanted Quarryman to blend with the aesthetic of the resort but still stand out as a modern boutique hotel.

Our room was on the top floor with a view of both the harbor and the hills to the East. When we first walked in, we were greeted to a cozy living room complete with a fireplace, couch, desk and french doors leading to the balcony. The bedroom was warm and inviting with a king size bed, flat screen TV mounted on the opposing wall and a walk in closet. Halfway between the living room and bedroom is the french doors leading to the open air deck. This was my favorite feature of the room since the deck was surprisingly large considering hotels like to skimp on room amenities like this.

We only stayed one night but we were told the reason why we were booked at this hotel was because a majority of brides would choose to stay at Quarryman (even after the wedding). We weren’t in the room much during our first stay however the times we were I remember feeling very safe, comfortable and cozy with the fireplace on (we visited in early March). We also loved that the rooms were extremely spacious with a separate living and bedroom that made it feel like we lived there. Overall we would recommend Quarryman Hall to a majority of our guest since there is no night minimum stay, has the most modern and updated rooms, and is extremely close the venue. However it’s on the spendy side with rooms averaging $300 - 350/night and not all the rooms have sweeping views of the water or the resort.

In the end, Quarryman Hall is a beautiful modern boutique that is perfect for a broad spectrum of travelers who plan to stay anywhere from 1 night to 1 month and anytime in between.
